The manual pallet truck is still used because there are some instances when picking up a pallet takes a manual maneuver in order to pick it up properly.

These include loading and unloading die punches in press shops, the loading of moulds in rubber and plastic industries, and the stacking of goods in many different types of stores. They are also used to load and unload the large semi tractor-trailers that you see traveling across the road every day.
